Damn, this water filter setup is BIG.. like 2x as big as I thought it would be. I will have room for it.. but damn.

These suck for welding upside down.. duh. Yeah they are less hot.. cooler than a helmet. But I had a hot piece go up my nose.. don't have to worry about trimming it. I'll say this about Smittybilt, they did GREAT on the underside rust protection. I basically fouled up a flap dish grinding that shit off. But its still causing me grief. 3 more to go.. them paint, undercoat and tomorrow I'll run wires.

Edit.. all washers welded in place and painted and rubberized. Running wire tomorrow.

It hurts.. so does my upper lip.. I think a piece burned through there as well. But fuck its 90+ degrees and 50+ percent humidity. I was not dawning a helmet.. figured I would power through it. Well I didn't burn anything down, namely me. But my Underarmour shirt (ones that dry fast.. wick moisture away) has some new holes in it. But that shit is done!

Well I am just about done... but I ran into a couple snags.

#1: My non-drop hitch doesn't stick out far enough for the max-coupler to work correctly. So I ordered a longer 2" receiver rated to 8000 lbs. Hope its long enough. Should also give me some more clearance between the spare tire and the tongue box.

#2: The brake away system they gave me is wonky. I don't really trust it so I ordered a new one.

Both items come in on Monday.

I still need to get the passenger side box installed. Hope to get it sanded down and primed today. But after that its ready for inspection and tags. I'll finish up everything else once that is complete.

Disregard the red and black wire. I just ran them there for now and will tuck up out of site for future usage.

It tows well... backing up sucks. Being so short with a single axle it wants to jack knife easily. It will take some practice again. Also I got a longer receiver but its still not long enough. I was attempting to back it up around a corner.. mainly to see how close it would be and the spare tire hit the tongue box. Didn't damage it but there was some rubber scuff marks on it. So I still need to wire up the new brake away controller but as of now, its good enough for inspection! RTT will go on once its tagged.. don't need to answer questions about it. Also, this thing is empty.. and its got a lot of tongue weight... those new OME HD Dakars might have to be on the to-do list in the next 109 days. One I get everything on it load it out we'll see.. but she is sagging. I think more than when I had the 23' travel trailer hooked to it.

Looks good! The key to backing it up is to turn the steering wheel in small increments. I have a single axle trailer thats a little bigger than that trailer and it's a bitch as well to back up.

Yeah sounds like your Dakars are wore out.

EDIT: get the HD Dakars. I want you to be the Guinea pig. :)

After all that work - I'd throw one of those cheap GPS trackers in it. Hate to see some asshole steal it from your campsite, but I'd love to hear the story of you catching them lol

Ive been lucky and only gotten a towel stolen from my site. The nicer your stuff the more I worry.

Looks great! Time to jump it lol.

Who the hell steals a towel? lol. Guess they needed it way more than you

NJ scumbag "rental/tourist" kayakers. My camp was 10 meters off the river and my towel hanging on my chair right on the river. Any normal river rat who spends time on the river would never of done it.

Water tank and pump arrived.. just slid the tank in to see how much real estate. It will be mounted above the slideouts an inch or so. Pump and filters on the end. Also, as you can see.. still got a lot of wiring to do inside thing thing. I was planning to put the fuse block in the tongue box but I have re-thought that and will now mount it in here, up high near the door. Run some 8 ga wire from the battery to it and then run everything from here. Will save me from running a shit load of wires under the trailer. Probably try to protect the water tank with some expanded metal in the front of it to keep me from shoving something into it a poking a hole.

Also took it up to sheriffs dept to get it inspected and be given the correct form so I could get tags for it. All done! Got tags as well. Thing pulls nicely, had it up to almost 80 on the toll road.

Any chance you can move your water supply or battery to behind the axle to decrease tongue weight? Now that I look at it there isn't much real-estate behind the axle. Good thing is Tacoma's always wheel better with some added weight on the ass end it seems.

Well there really isn't much room aft of the axle for added weight. Hopefully when I add the rear bumper and tire out there it will help.

Be prepared to have to shift stuff around. Single axle trailers are pretty unforgiving to unbalanced loads.

After I get the RTT on it I think I'll load it up with some heavy stuff and see what it does.

Damn its hot out. I finished up the interior lighting and wiring. I modified the front RTT rack to allow for more support and I am about 35% done with the rear RTT rack mount mods... adding a place to store a Lifetime folding table underneath the tent. I could easily knock this out tonight if I can tolerate the temps. After that its building the water tank support and plumb all that fun stuff in. I still need to figure out where I am going to place the water spigot, I'm thinking of behind the driver side fender.

I hear ya.. I'm trying to power through it. I expect to get 75% done tonight. Shitty part is that I am using the table as my guide, so I have to wait until the steel cools down before I move on to the next portion.

98% done with the RTT Rack... I need to figure out how I want to secure the table underneath. I thought about simple flat plate of steel that was mounted by a loose bolt up top allowing it to swing and then a pin in the bottom (or a padlock). Not sure. But anyhow. The front support was lengthened out to help support the oversize RTT and also as a platform for the future solar panel slideouts.
