This 458 SOCOM build at the same time as a 6.5 Grendel is killing me but damn it is going to be fun when they are done.

It's going to suck when you flip the boat they are in. :(

Ordered the final bits for my new AR. Picked up a BCG, a nicer charging handle and a Vortex red dot. Found a good deal on it at Brownells. Only thing left are some flip-up BUS... I think. Then of course to wait on Santa to deliver the upper. :D

Academy has a deal where you buy this scope and get the cantilever mount for it for free. So they got me. This should go nicely on my 300 Blkout SBR.

I had one of those. The problem you'll quickly come to realize is the reticle is to thick to make precision shots. That reticle is for making fast hits on steel.

I'm looking at that scope for my 450 bushmaster.

Which is fine. It really is not a precision setup as an SBR. It is more of a "make it dead and move on" setup.

Buy a quality, quick release scope mount, LaRue is the only brand I recommend and use the same optic on different AR platforms, after zero’d in, just record what weapon with corresponding windage and elevation specs

Like all LaRue mounts, it is precision-machined out of bar-stock aluminum and anodized. The locking LaRue Speed Levers provide outstanding return to zero; the optic can be removed, and replaced, without loss of zero. Guaranteed.

@tx_shooter How much was it? I was looking at the 1-8 version. Want to put it on my Sig AR.

Magpul pro backup sights are nice.

I've got those on all the others and I like them... will get another set for this one as well.

Out the door at $325. I just got it on the SBR and like it so far. It may not be a fine mildot reticle but I have no doubt I can hit a decent target. It is not like I intend to precision shoot past 300 yds with my 300BlkOut. If I get a similiar optic I for the 458 SOCOM I would be hard pressed to push it past 200 yds.

It's hard to make it dead when the reticle covers up the neck & chest at the same time lol
