So I finally got around to replacing the mixer cartridge on the shower valve. There was an * on the part that the head had been redesigned and the new valve would fit but not completely seal all the gaps. I checked the listing and risked it.

Yep - I have the original design and the new design has a shank about 3/8" longer. So it technically "works" but does not look right. So I am going to go on the hunt with the old cartridge to find the old design replacement. All the fun of home ownership.
Well..... you own a mill now... lol

I got caught up today, I had 4 fires going and burned all the tree limbs and sticks from my entire property to include some cactuses.

After 11 years in this house I am finally installing some adjustable shelving in the hall cabinets. It has been on my list for a while lol

I want to put some shelving above the washer and dryer in the mud room. Wife doesn't want them but I think its wasted space.

That is a large part of what we are working on fixing. We have a significant amount of space that is being under utilized because of a lack of proper storage options.

I really wish this house had a basement. To think of all the shit I could put down there. LOL

One of our toilets started continually running a week or 2 ago. Didn't want to rebuild it since it was one of those small Circular ones that is so small your dick will touch the front so I just ripped it out and replaced it. House was built in 56 so I thought for sure the mounting flange was going to be corroded to nothing. Shockingly it was in great shape.

Flooring is getting done first week I think November. Most of the house has the original oak hardwood from 56 hidden under all the carpet and laminate flooring. Gonna rip all the carpet and laminate up and refinish the wood and have it hand scraped. Where the wood is not I'm going to do tile that looks like wood

Yep, I have a replacement in my mom's garage to swap out her last toilet like that. That old toilet is so low, your knees are at chin level when you take a shit lol

Added a new LED "can" light over the kitchen sink. Really needed it since you couldn't see what you were doing because your back blocked the light. Really love these T67's since you don't need a huge can that sticks out in your attic. All you need is a blue plastic fixture housing and your good to go.

Also sealed a bunch of penetration holes in the attic while I was up there.

Cleaned up the garage and put a coat of paint on a new mailbox frame I made.

Ripped the carpets and laminate floors out of my house today. I knew there would be hardwood under it but had no idea of the condition. These floors are original 1956. Starting tomorrow they are getting sanded, hand scrapped, restained, and polyed

And your house value just went up a nice chunk. Those floors look great for just coming back out into the light.
I thought for sure they were gonna look like shit and that's why they got covered up. They are in incredible condition. I don't know who's moronic idea it was to put laminate over the top of them.
