Got two quotes for new HVAC over the weekend. Both have similar prices of $15,500. Both sent out salesmen who Ill never allow into my house again. The balls on these guys was amazing. I just kept quiet the whole time then handed them my card at the end of their "speeches" and thanked them for my time. Same kind of guys that whenever their mouths are moving you know they are lying. I wouldn't even trash used car salesman by comparing the two. "Ill do the water heater for free, and I need authorization for deals this good, and I have extra stock in this brand we need to move before 2019, Ill get in trouble for this price" type crap. After the second guy got going I couldn't take it after 15 minutes and I just stopped him in his tracks. Said - I need the hard data for quote comparison with brands and models + written scope of work + permits in writing. No lines of BS with this or that free and this or that on sale due to overstock. I'm not buying today so you can stop the pressure tactics and what I believe to be poor sales tact because they only piss me off. I asked the last guy if they actually worked and he said he wouldn't do it if it didn't work. He calmed down after that and we conversed like normal human beings.
One thing I did think was funny....both guys when asked said new homeowners could care less about efficiency. They go by brand name and age.
