Nice job man!

Thanks, total pita, but half my zones don’t pattern correctly and couple heads were broke/cracked. Sprinkler heads only last 3 to 5 years anyways.

Now that the temperature is down, I also put out fertilizer, iron, rye grass and fescue seed today as well, I only have green grass during the late Fall, winter and early Spring, everything burns up any other part of the year

Yeah, I know... I did that shit ONCE. Then I found a guy to do that stuff for a reasonable rate.

I have about 4 or 5 more to replace, then I’m done, except I want to upgrade the control unit that has wifi to program from my phone.

That's my plan today. Had our first frost last night with temps in the high 30's so I'm planing another 100 or so bulbs and some more wildgrass seed that called for "after frost" planting. Accidentally forgot to plant some of the bulbs from my last planting and now I'm about 1-1/2 months late. They should be blooming now and I'm going to plant them. I looked it up this morning and they said to keep them indoors and grow them over winter this late in the season ~ Yea, that's not going to happen. Prob just blew $40 in crocus bulbs. Only time will tell. Ive got bulbs spring up all over that I never planted so 15+ years of growth w/no care so Ill cross my fingers as I plant the late ones.

Not a big home project but this is answering an issue I have been dealing with for a little while now. My new job has me in a tie every so often so I have a small tie collection that I have been trying to take care of. The "proper" tie storage boxes that keep everything nice and secure are also $$$ and have to be setup in a way that uses real estate space I do not have to give up. Husky storage option to the rescue at a whopping $9. Money saved will be used to upgrade a few ties now.

Ties oh so cool, can I have them?

Here is the proper way to store ties, they look better in the trees. I set 2 aside, I might wear one to a funeral but I’ll never wear a tie again if I don’t have to.

I have not had the good fortune to be old and retired yet. But with a little luck and a lot of savings I will get there.

I ended up cleaning beds, de-thatching, and cleaning up leaves all day Saturday. Sunday was rain all day. Never got to plant my bulbs or seed.

Filled up (7) 55 gallon drum liners with leaves and grass. Barley any leaves have fallen yet - now you know why I like pine trees lol

Before the season ends Ill have something like (100) 55 gallon drum liners full of leaves Ill need to clean out. One bag was probably all acorns - tree rats were not happy about that. They were chirping at me all day as I raked them up.

just mulch them with the mower on regular basis, free fertilizer back into your and less landfill waste.

My idiot neighbor across the street from me burns leaves, his acreage is not fully fenced, he also got a pool this past year. I have one of those a pull behind yard sweepers, I’m really seriously considering dumping tons of leaves outside my fence so they blow around so he can enjoy cleaning that pool more and burn more leaves.

This is the first year I did that all season. It choked out what little grass I had thus the thatching for winter recovery. Soil looks darker w/less sand and more organics so it's working.

So much quicker and easier to not bag it + I'm sure my lawnmower enjoys running non stop vs stopping every 3 min to empty a bag.

I miss the house I grew up in that was in the woods. I'd just attach the biggest tarp I could find to my quad. Fill the tarp, drag it into the woods, and by by leaves.

I'm surprised he can have a pool w/no gate. Lord knows around here if you do that the idiot kids next door will drown themselves out of ignorance lol

on the back side, he has no fence/gate, on the front he has cattle square fencing, the squares are large enough for leaves and the fence itself is very old. We always have wind and often gets windy and I have horse fencing with 2” x 4” squares, and leaves do not pass through easy.

Also having sharp blades all the time really helps!

I sharpen yearly + I had my mower set as low as it would go so I'm sure the blades are about as sharp as a butter knife after hitting mounds of dirt and many roots lol
