Well, this $99 chest freezer served me well for the last 10 or 12 years. GFCI went bad in the garage sometime in the last couple weeks and I didn't know. Luckily the loss of meat was minimal. The freezer still works but wife's been wanting a fridge for the garage so I'm chunking the freezer and getting a stand up fridge/freezer to replace it. Also trying to convince her that the laundry room is a much better place for the new one rather than in the garage. View attachment 67033
Still need to add a weed barrier and go pick up a trailer load of dirt for this box and several other really low spots in my yard.Move the outlet now or you'll never do it. Other that that, alright! Before and after (during) of the laundry room project. Cabinets are in. Still need to trim them out tomorrow and go to my BIL's to rip a board to fill in the middle gap. Picking up a butcher block as well tomorrow after work for a countertop. I'm already regretting not moving that outlet on the side wall. Wanted to move it and bring the cabinet out enough to cover it so I didn't have to actually patch the hole but my wife wasn't on board. Maybe one day I'll move it up above the countertop. Maybe. Anyway, this is all that's getting done today. It's beer:30. View attachment 67101View attachment 67102
Apparently we got high winds coming so I'd wait it out.We decided to move our side fence from the front of our house to the back essentially making the side yard part of the front yard rather than the back. Set two galvanized poles yesterday morning and picked up all the lumber this morning. Wind is blowing more than I like so not sure if I'll get it put up today or not. Going to my buddy's new house to do some electrical work for him and then I'll reassess when I get home. Also picked up the butcher block yesterday for the laundry room counter and got it cut and set in place. Need to get it anchored down. Had to buy a 60x30 piece so I ended up with a 30x30 left over. Will probably make a nice cutting board out of the rest. Will give me a chance to mess around with my router that I never use.
Winds are already here. 40+ right now.Apparently we got high winds coming so I'd wait it out.
Use a large clamp next time to hold em in place (It's what I did when I built my fence by myself). You can also start set a screw in the board so you don't have to worry about holding the drill, screw, & board next time.Took the day off work today to knock out some stuff around the house since we have a completely full weekend and my next weekend off won't be for 3 weeks. Got the fence finished after not being able to do it last weekend do to the wind storm. Satisfied with the end result for the circumstances. It's harder than it sounds to hold the boards, keep them plumb, load the driver, and drive the screws with no extra hands. Or maybe 18 boards just wasn't enough for me to figure out the technique. Anyway, no one will ever see this fence anyway unless they're working on my AC unit. Once I feel like getting the table saw out, I'll rip a board to fill in that last little gap between mine and my neighbors fence.View attachment 67301
I had to build a section of the fence with screws in case my neighbor ever needed to swap out AC units, we could unscrew all the boards and then lift it out. So that's what I did for that section and the rest of the fence was built with a nail gun.I used clamps to hold up the runners while I put the lag screws in but didn't clamp every board.woudont have been a bad idea but hindsight is 20/20. I'd say I'll do it on the next one but I'm hoping this was the last one.
