So you're saying there's a chance!
Fucked up part was that I really didn't notice as I mowed.. so I did the whole yard. Doh!

Hahaha, I don't have a riding mower... But I've done that with my push mower when one wheel was adjusted differently.

Now if I could just guess what you were drinking...Bud Light in a can is my guess.

You just might have a gift!!

That too!! Not sure how the wife would feel about it. Maybe I can put it in the garage and tell her its a firefighters pole.

I'm waiting for a phone call from the electric provided, it's city owned utility by Floresville Electric, aka FELPS probably more trouble than it's worth

Yeah, once I get the quotes I still need to talk with Oncor Electric and see what the waiting list is like for the rebates... and then to make sure that I get net metered billing.. so if we produce 1500 Kwh in Jan and I only use 1000, I can roll those extra 500 credits into the next month, like rollover minutes. I've got conflicting answers as to if its possible or not. If its not then I might not do it... or just build a smaller system that ensures I don't have any bill for 6 months out of the year vs 10-11 months. Ideally I want it to produce enough to cover all electricity consumed per year, not not go over.. cause they won't write me a check back. I'd rather pay a little in July/Aug/Sept than produce too much and get anything back.

I think you just get credit.. BUT I'm not 100% and want to know beforehand. Plus different electric companies do different things. So what Austin Energy does isn't necessarily what Encore will do.

Some more solar info. Not looking so good at the moment.

1: My current REP does not offer a buy back program. This would force me to cancel my contract ($$) and find a new provider.

2: New provider would put me on a special plan... this is an unknown. But speculate higher costs per Kwh and a predetermined buy back rate. Could vary. Example 10.2 cents per Kw vs. a 5.1 cent buy back. Still need to investigate.

3: It would require a new meter. I can't imagine that is cheap. (Master electrician to install... power company to inspect.. cost of meter)

4: Oncore (the folks who own the transmission lines in the area) offers a very small rebate ( 41 cents per Kwh... so about $2900 vs. the supposed $1.50 - 2.00 per Kwh the sales guy said). Now if the solar panel place wants to rebate me that amount great.. but I doubt they will.

5: Still waiting on one other quote, and this is the one from a company that someone we knows went with. However they do not have Oncore as their transmission line owner.

Soo.. ball is still in the air.

Worse case I install hardwood flooring instead.. fug it. My electric bill for August just popped up and its only $190 (not too bad for a 3300 sq ft place that I keep at 70 degrees).

That's Mr Asshole to you
Thanks for doing all of this research for us. I have wondered about solar panels as well but it almost does not sound worth it.

Fuck Sean my bill for August is $467. In all fairness that the total including water, sewage and trash collection but still it at least $300 in electricity for my 1800 Sq feet house.
