Flooring project kicks back in on Saturday, they start the first phase of phase 2. Demo the shit they installed the first time and pull the carpet in the front half of the house. We have 90% of the front half of the house cleaned out. They will move the furniture, we just needed to move the "stuff" out. Once that's done we will move the "stuff" back and clean out the back half and then they will proceed to the it. Back half is technically 2/3's the sq footage of flooring being done. But its only about 2/5's the amount of shit to be moved. So it works out. Best guess is 2-3 weeks before they come back to finish it.. Figure a good week to put it back and a week to move the other shit out. 3 weeks is realistic with delays and such. But I'm pushing for 2 weeks. I want it done! Big ass wall unit entertainment center for the living room comes in Feb 16... I want it all done by then.

Sean has some good looking wood ehh.

For durability, they have came out with some pretty nice tiles lately that look like wood, but the tile I like, was about $6 a sq foot plus installation so that could get pretty pricey since it has more labor involved. We have 100% tile through out and love it because it's super easy to maintain and our old house was a mix of a HGTV hickory laminate product and tiles in baths and kitchen.

I'll never own a house with nasty carpet in it.

I've seen that tile that looks like wood. Someone I know has it. I think it's Rob. Pretty cool stuff.

We only have one room in it with carpet, the media room. But we just replaced it and it's some ultra plush shit. Hell it was $6 a sq ft for carpet. But we are rarely in the room so it better last for the rest of my time in the house.

Poor guy had to get all that stuff up... He's busting his ass! I do not envy him. First cut out opposite direction cuts in the wood and now he's using a scraper to get it up.

First phase is done. These guys killed it! Way faster than I would have imagined. Can't wait until it's all done!

They did a great job the first time... The wood was just shit. Actually the same guys were there at first then about 6 more showed up. . But they will be back in 3 weeks to finish it out. Gives me time to put the stuff back and get it ready for the next phase.

Yeah, 8' doors thought the place. Front door is 3 1/2 foot wide as well. Makes me feel really really short.

Replaced 32 lights with LED, 6in recessed lights, about half of the old were 90 watt and 65 watt bulbs. The new LED lights I would say were just as bright as the 90 watt lights.

May take about 18 months to recoup the cost, and I need to change out the dimmers for the lower voltage switch to dim down more.

Do they have a large pattern? I bought an LED flood light for above the sink a couple of years ago and it is barely more than a spot light. I need to replace the can lights in the living room but want to wait till LED flood lights get their chit together.
