I want to rework some of the space in my garage to be more usable and looking for input. What to use, design, peg board back, no back, metal top or carpet top. Never built anything like this so not sure the best way to approach it. Picture of the space for reference. I am wanting to build a new work bench from the left of the current work bench down to the shelves but I am okay with removing the shelves on the right to make more work space.
Goals are to make the top of the bench high enough to fit another rolling tool box or 2 under it, trash can, and a taller stool.
Between the vice and shelves is 92" wide. If the shelves are removed I would about 137" of space. I need to keep it about 22-24" deep so there is still enough room for the wife's vehicle.
I want to add a TV to the wall in this spot as well so the wire shelf and deer heads need to come down.
Sprinkler control will probably also get relocated.
FYI, I am relocating the air compressor to a closet off the back of my man cave in the back yard and the air line will enter on this wall down at the bottom behind the red tool box.

I wouldn't be so pissed if they had not wasted 100's of gallons when the sprinkler system was F'd up.

Cool thing about Wall Control is that is comes in many colors and the hooks/shelves/etc also come in a variety of colors. I did galvanized steel panels and red accessories. I have about 24 feet of the stuff. Its solid.

I spoke to the VP of Construction for the company that is building the house nextdoor. I was telling him the whole story from the beginning. He said that old construction supervisor is no longer with the company. I said they were better off without him. Anyhow, he assured me that there would be no more trespassing on my property by the subcontractors or anyone.

Call the cops next time and file a complaint. They have already had three warnings as of now. Next time get it on the record.

if they keep being jackholes.....well .....a few moved survey sticks/sugar gas/missing tools/etc can really slow down a job site.

NEVER EVER EVER PISS OF YOUR NEIGHBORS WITH CONSTRUCTION. I always go talk to the tenants and advise them of what we will be doing. Just being a good neighbor even though I'm not the tenant moving in. Last thing I need is the people there to tell the tenant how shitty of a company we were during construction. I get a good deal of work from word of mouth. People start bitching to the building manager and next thing you know I'm not working in that high rise anymore.

Oh I was SOOO close to calling the cops. And yes the sugar gas was in my mind last night when they left the mini excavator out. But I am not going to do that. If they step foot over here again I will fuck someone up though.

Made a little progress yesterday. Removed the deer heads and shelf from the wall. Painted the wall and relocated the sprinkler control. I think before I start building a new work bench I am going to get a new deep freezer to fit in the laundry room so I have a little more space to fit everything in the garage while I get the bench built.

Sugar doesn't dissolve in gas or diesel. A water bottle in the gas tank will do just fine. Sugar is obvious sabotage. Water not so much.

People buy bad gas/fuel all the time.

I'm not 100% sure what caused my issues but when my motor just started making noises way back when I had just gotten gas from a shady place.

It'll happen again. I hate residential subcontractors. Always the bottom of the barrel workers.

I put a lock on the spigot. Not stealing it from that one at least.

Getting my first dose of home ownership. Leaky water line in the attic. I could call the home warranty people but I'm just gonna cut and recrimp it myself. Seems like a lot less hassle and a lot cheaper.

Be sure to send them the bill.. Those home warranty people are fucksuckers to deal with... they try really really hard not to pay out a fucking dime.

Yeah I'm going to send them the receipt and see if they'll reimburse me. But it was only $9.69 for the fittings so if they dont, I'm not gonna fight for it. I'll save being a dickhead for when I have a real repair I need taken care of.
