Just wait til after dark and use theirs. You have at least 6 minutes of bliss before the cops arrive.

Back in the day we would make a Friday night of pool hopping and getting chased ~ we were a**hole kids.

Man I love our pool.. I'm planning to get in it here shortly. Curious as to how they do them up north. Down here we keep water in it 24/7 and when it gets cold (below 32) the pumps kick on and run continuously until it warms up.

Same here, but we never ran the pumps ~ Just drop the water level below the lines and plug them up then pray the pool doesn't sink or float over the winter. Spring - fill it up and hope no lines cracked. Ive dug up many a trench in my 25 years of pools in my houses. Key is to get a good earthworks guy so they back fill and compact properly. You get a shit-bird who back fills like crap and your pool is doomed before it's open.

Ill be doing all my own excavation and construction. About the only thing I'm not going to mess with is the electric. I do not want to kill myself or any others.

You mean all the yankees don't just practice hockey on their mini ice skating rinks?

They might to the North. Our lakes & pools just don't freeze like thy used to. We used to have at least a weeks worth of games every year. Heck even had trucks and quads out on the local lake way back in the day when it would get real cold. Now we are lucky to have it freeze over the top let alone get inches thick. June was the warmest month on record here and I suspect winter will get warmer as well. Shit it was 104* in the shade at my house Friday and Ive never seen temps like that ever....only temp that was ever higher was in 1936 when it was 110* for a day.

Steel would be good. Much less framing needed. Pretty heavy for 1 person though. I also lack any/all tools req for ironwork (including the knowledge).

104* here at my house Friday. That got me thinking that it's not getting any cooler and I'm not getting any younger so I think I'm going to get an in ground pool. Had a above ground POS rust trap of a pool in my yard when I moved in, but that was one of the first things to go. Spent my first 25 years of life in houses with pools and now that Ive not had one for a long time I'm ready to do some work in summer again to enjoy one. Pretty sure what size I want but gotta look into the local ordinances to see what I can get away with and what may fit w/future garage. While I do want out of NJ it's going to take longer that I imagined so might as well enjoy it for now.

Also doesn't help the neighbors just got one and all I hear is them splashing around having fun while I'm dripping sweat just sitting down on my bench lol

I have looked at something similar but smaller for my lizards this summer. The biggest issue has been a drain and filter setup so as to keep it clean.

Yeah that's why we got that sunshade to cover half the pool. It help keep the water temps down but nothing helps during August. We just don't use the pool lol

Ive been all over looking into this and many people just hook up above ground pool filters to them. Easy peasy to cut the holes. Not sure how good it would work for living animals though.
The plas5tic used in the pool I'm looking at leaches toxins when it gets hot so that might be an issue. Causes nausea and poopy pants in humans. No idea how that could pass for a "stock" tank animals drink from.?.

The other half that use the galvanized version then chlorinate it are tards. They might get a season before rust holes start - things are not made like they used to be.

2/3 of my yard never sees the suns rays. 1/3 of my backyard is moss. Gotta love old BIG trees....till they fall lol

I'd have my mom sew up some sort of canvas cover for it - she used to reapolster boat cushions and boat canvas as a side gig back in the marina days.

About time I start seeing stuff like this.... Calgary tower features triple-glazed, curved glass curtain wall system

These days if you are using double pane windows you are using outdated tech. triple pane or double pane w/a vacuum instead of air is the top tech.

Edit: here is a good alternative to thicker units while getting higher performance Demand for ‘Skinny Triple’ Lags as Builders Procrastinate in California | USGlass Magazine & USGNN Headline News

as you can tell by my plethora of posts recently I'm in between projects to manage so I need to spend my time somehow or the days will draaaag on lol

Started working on the mancave this morning. Cleaned up a ut and then got my guitar hanger mounted. Going to pick up the rest of my guitars, my aoudad mount, my derr mounts, and a few other things later. Need to get a computer desk and a bookshelf before I can really get the room organized though.

We have a huge amount of attic space, the area I want to capture up there(est. 25W x 30L+ x 10H), it would be nice to convert some of that space over to another bedroom or really a theater/game room. The trick would be putting in a set of full size stairs from the garage. I will get measurements for the front portion of the garage, I will try and find the blueprints as well. Any thoughts?

A Load bearing beam separates the garage ceiling. Current attic access drop ladder.

That's Mr Asshole to you
I wont be much help with this but I know a few of the times people I know have talked about attic conversions it was not worth it for the cost.

X2.
1. It's always too hot up there due to how close the ceilings are to the roof in Texas.
2. It's an odd shape so furniture is always in the middle of the room and cabinets are always really short so you don't gain as much storage space as you'd think.
3. You usually have to sacrifice valuable space below the room for columns or staircases.
4. You'll need to upgrade your existing A/C unit to support the additional sq.ft. you'll add or you'll have to install a window unit or mini-split just for the upstairs.

It all just adds up and becomes really expensive per sq.ft.

Ha, I thought about those, would suck to bring furniture type items up.

Spiral stairs with one big window for the furniture loading. We routinely pull glass out to load high-rises (their windows are not operable like residential) so the other trades can load the job out & no one has to mess with the stairs/freight elevators.

Think of it as a 2nd story barn window - same theory

+ spiral staircases are fun when you have had a few beers playing games lol
