I filed my SBR stamp with a 2" barrel. Now when I run anything longer than nobody bats an eye. I just cannot run shorter than a 2" barrel.

Rule of thumb is 8.5" for 300BO and 10.5" for .223. Anything shorter for .223 can cause a bunch of issues.

After 2 days of downtime at work, I read a lot of forums and research the 300BO.

Conclusion,
1st
Don't be cheap, spend the extra money and get a piston upper for short barrels.

2nd
300 BO using subsonic ammo the results are better achieved from 8.5 to 10" barrels and suppressed.

Thus year is super slow. Finding the fish is way harder than years past. Guess they all got washed down to the ocean. I miss the 40+ fish nights. We did manage to get 13 tonight between 5 of us in about 3.5 hours. 2 in the group were first timers.

Fish have been acting strange this year. I am not sure if it is all the rain the past couple of years or not. The last time we went fishing my wife caught a grass carp on a worm and the people next to us caught one on stink bait. I have had pan fish hit minnow flys and bass just ignore them. The llano bug fly still always works no matter where you are in Texas.

My brother is already up north in Minnesota this week before I get up there. 2nd cast on lake Big Sandy and he lands this 8.6 pound 31" walleye. Almost had a new lake record.

Yeah I don't know. They're not even just acting weird. We can't find them at all. Well at least not the ones we're trying to shoot. And we can cover way more water than any of the other bowfishers can. We may have to go try alligator gar on the trinity next time.

I think I'll go out again on Sunday 31st. If you're coming up, we can stay Sunday night through Monday night and get some solid hunting time in.

Went muskie fishing this evening. Fucking work throwing big baits with heavy ass rods. Even threw a 14" swim bait that weighted 8 ounces. I lost a 45" muskie at the boat.
