I filed my SBR stamp with a 2" barrel. Now when I run anything longer than nobody bats an eye. I just cannot run shorter than a 2" barrel.
Rule of thumb is 8.5" for 300BO and 10.5" for .223. Anything shorter for .223 can cause a bunch of issues.
After 2 days of downtime at work, I read a lot of forums and research the 300BO.
Conclusion,
1st
Don't be cheap, spend the extra money and get a piston upper for short barrels.
2nd
300 BO using subsonic ammo the results are better achieved from 8.5 to 10" barrels and suppressed.
I ordered a AdamsArms 300BO 9.5in Piston Upper
The main issue with DI AR's is the gas block. You NEED to have an adjustable gas block on an SBR.
Awesome!2 tree rats suppressed under the feeder and a Turkey that is less than 125ft never moved a bit just sat there and watched,.
Fish have been acting strange this year. I am not sure if it is all the rain the past couple of years or not. The last time we went fishing my wife caught a grass carp on a worm and the people next to us caught one on stink bait. I have had pan fish hit minnow flys and bass just ignore them. The llano bug fly still always works no matter where you are in Texas.
About to head out for some Auodad hunting. Should have some pics later, and am gonna try backstrapping one this time to see how it tastes.
I'm going to see if I can swing by San Antonio for one last hoorah. That shit was awesome. What days work best for you?About to head out for some Auodad hunting. Should have some pics later, and am gonna try backstrapping one this time to see how it tastes.
