I have the Hobart 187. The precursor to the 190. Great machine. For an entry level 220 machine it's all I could ask for and the price was right.

Ok Cool, I'm deff gonna get a welder, might as spend a little bit more just in case

I was reading on a welding forum, lol and some of folks like the using the cheap harbor freight plasma's they say it's very decent and gets small jobs done.

I have a HF plasma. Works great! It doesn't get used a whole lot but it's never not worked when I needed it.

Tap and die, anyone know if a good set that will hold up? Don't need to go that large, just standard bolts

I hate to admit it but I picked up a pretty decent set at HF for about $100 - It is so nice to chase threads when I am rebuilding stuff. At the shop we have better ones but that would break me at home. :)

I bought two sets of pretty nice tap and die sets from Lowes a few years back. But they have discontinued them. :( I have since broke a few and need to find some new ones. I will have take a look at those links Roger showed.

Just an FYI on taps.
General purpose taps are usually carbon steel and are what you can pick up at most parts houses, sears, HF. For the most part these taps will work for low usage, chasing bad threads ect. 99% of the time these will work for what most of us use/do in our garages.
If you where to need to tap multiple new holes the better choice would be HSS (High Speed Steel). Little more costly but most likely they will last a long time. Or you could just purchase the single tap needed not a full set.
Looking at our suppliers cost for tap sets, the HSS is roughly 3X the cost of carbon steel.

Sweet that will come in real handy with those floral wall paper projects.

Jk what do use a heat gun for?

Warms his balls on cold winter mornings. Well that's what I use mine for.

Use it for heating up patches on drywall. Or getting paint off of stuff. I'll also be using it to heat up my guns so I can let frog lube soak in.
