Get a piece of 1/8" or better (1/4" would be awesome) flat plate about 12"x12" and mount it below the bench. Keep it from coming loose in that wood. Nice vise though, back when Craftsman was a name you could trust for quality.

So you're saying there's a chance!
Thanks... It actually says "Columbian" on one side and "Made in the USA" on the other. It has 5" jaws and was apparently a line made by Wilton Tools back in the day. I'm happy to have it, and will remember that plate trick.

Ahh... so it does. I saw the red color and I assumed Craftsman. Columbia is even better!

Well after 2 years of solid abuse, I finally burned up my 20V hammerdrill. I caught it on fire and had to stick it in a puddle to put it out. lol So I finally bought a compact DeWalt hammerdrill because I need a real one to abuse now. I used a similar older model of this one when I had to put in around ~300 3/4" concrete anchors in a fire station and EMS building. We burned out a hilti and a bosch hammerdrill but this little one went all day without a problem.

Not really a tool but it runs off of a Milwaukee M12 battery so I figured I'd put it here. Work just bought me a new coat. This thing is fucking badass. It has heaters built in the chest like an electric blanket. I don't see myself ever having to turn them on but even without them it is by far the warmest coat I've had. It's way warmer than my Carhartts and weighs about half as much. That being said, it's probably nowhere as durable but I think it will stand up just fine. Highly recommend it so far. Runs about $189 with a charger and battery.

How long does a battery last?

Not sure. It has three settings... High, medium, low. I'll turn it on tonight and see how much time I can get out of it on the medium setting.

x2 Would be a great jacket for winter wheeling. Oh who am I kidding.. I won't use it for that. :) But I do like it.

They come in other colors as well that aren't as bulky. Thinking about picking up a camo one for hunting. If only there was some way to talk work into buying it for me lol

I've seen those before and thought the same about making my own and using medium duty chain instead of the cables.

I like the idea of chains. It's a big extra and the chains don't make it that much bigger.
