What have you done to your ride lately?

Well I got the 2x3x.25 angle welded into the trailers frame rails. What a PITA! It took 3 of us about 6 hours or so to knock it out. Basically had to use large Bessy clamps and a Hi-Lift and work the angle into the frame rails a foot at a time. Took turns welding and moving clamps since there was a lot of both going on. Since the trailer had been broken it was far from straight, and was warped. On one side we actually had to make 3 slices in the original frame to allow it to bend back where it needed to. Then we burned it all in. Even welded up my broken fenders. So I'm confident that its 2x as strong as it was (probably more) and its somewhat straight... well its not shaped like a noodle any more. Once I get some brakes on it I'll have no worries pulling the old Yota. I do believe I'll be working on the tongue though, cutting off some bent shit and welding on a new one and also installing a 5000lbs dolly jack. The one thing I didn't get to do was wire it up though, hopefully tonight I can do that.

Just one of the thousands of uses for a High Lift jack. Looks good Sean.

Thanks Rob.

I wish we would have cut the other side to allow it to straighten out more. But we did that side first and thought we could make the clamps get the bends out.. they got a lot of the bend out, but it would have been easier if we cut it. Just hope the brake drums arrive before Friday (and in time for me to install them) because otherwise its going to be a white knuckle trip out there.

If not we can work something out to unload my rig off at HF and come back for yours with the trailer I am using.

Have any of y'all ever had to remove the bushings from 2nd gen Taco Leafs? It sucks ass. Just finished doing one this morning.

Last time I did leaf bushings was on a Chevy and those had to be burned our with a torch

Update on my front bumper. I still have some grinding and finish welding on what you see here. Obviously, I still have to do the side wings with the inset lights. Whatcha think?

I don't think I could make anything that nice with my skills

Thank you. I'm cool like that.

Damn thing is already heavy. Its all made out of 1/4" plate. I plan to get in there and skeletonize a few interior areas to shave a few pounds. The sides will be 3/16".

Looks great...and eerily familiar :D

I love my hi lift notches. Very safe and a great idea.

I've admitted all along it was going to be styled similar to the Relentless bumper. He's got a solid design. I've never seen one of his in person but it appears they're made well too. Mimicry is the ultimate compliment, right?
