That sucks Chris!
Gonna make my trip from Houston to K2 with the tube doors on. 274mi each way. Unless I tow it. The trick is to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
And keep some Frogtoggs close... just in case.

Wheeling with no doors on is friggin sweet, though. That and the amount of crazy looks I get for driving it on the road with tube doors is well worth it![]()

Project 8.0 eLicker delete starts today. Have an 8.4 already geared and locked sitting on jackstands in the garage. Just need to redo the brake lines and e-brake cables. Plus weld on some diff armor.. just cause I have some and its on jackstands.
Word, that's a lengthy trip! Hope the weather holds out for ya!

I wheeled with a guy with an FJC and he would take them off at the beginning of the trip - stash them and put them back on when he leaves... But I guess they wouldn't be there in some parts!![]()
Put on new hoses for the flat bellied thingee. Ordered a 1inch bore FJ80 Master Cylinder. I may finish that bitch yet!![]()

Damn that sucks.
Yep; the first time I went wheeling without the doors on I was convinced it is the best way to wheel. You really can see so much more of what is going on.
How dat blind guy with cane and dark sunglasses spotting you?
Must be the same guy

Started ordering parts for the next phase of the build. Going to redo my suspension. Axle relocation plates, u-bolt flip, shock relocation, bumpstops, and D6XL. I don't know if I can get the nitrochargers to work with the shock relocation in a way that I want them to so I may end up ordering some new rear shocks as well. Will just have to wait and see. Also ordered my Spidertrax spacers so I can have full turning again. And got my extended (+8") rear brake line that I'll put on when I have it all torn down.
Any current plans for that eLicker? Also it sounds like your back is doing better if you are talking about stuff in the garage.
ouch
I thought you were not going to go crazy with mods. Just some mild changes to make it more capable....
Sell the whole thing... end to end. Back isn't 100% by any means, but I'm taking it easy and doing lightweight stuff. When it come time to stuff it under I'm sure I'll need help. I just came in from out there. It rained like a sumbitch and not its just humid. But I got the "new" housing broke down, I still need to tear the brakes apart on it. though, but the axles are out. Also ground off all the old tab mounts and gave it a fresh coat of black paint. Diff armor was a no go. Its the BTF armor and I know you can make it fit with a lot of extra metal being used. But for now I'm gonna say screw it and look for one designed for that axle or just use the BTF one as a template and make my own.
Ouch! At least it's just a flop, looks like it could have easily become a roll.
Pretty sure I'm going to be in Austin this weekend. If you need a hand with anything, I should be able to help out for a few hours Sunday. I'll know for sure tomorrow or Wednesday whether I'm coming down or not.
