What have you done to your ride lately?

Brakes on the new axle def need a rebuild. Randal got all the life out of them. :). They didn't gouge the drums but man the pad has about 1/32 of life left. lol

Tommy want wingy..
Yeah looks like if could have been really bad!

I'm pretty sure the diagonal bar from the side of the bed to the C-pillar hoop kept me from rolling on my lid.

So today when I pulled into work my little 81 wanted to keep running.. it gasped and wheezed for about 5 seconds before finally shutting off. WTF! So at lunch I get in it and it won't idle. Great! So I bring it home and everytime I downshifted it would backfire through the exhaust. Wonderful! BUT.. it ran great at speed. So I figured it was something small. Sure enough. A tiny little rubber vacuum cap on the distributor was cracked. Put a new one on it and she purrs like a kitten. Gotta love the small stuff.

Huh so that's why it was sputtering last weekend

yep.. tiny little vacuum leak. It had just started last Friday. I even put some fresh gas in it as well thinking that maybe... just maybe it was some bad gas.

Well I finished up the eLocker delete. Now rocking an 8.4 in the Taco. Its locked and loaded. :) Next step will be to have the spare 8.4 built with an ARB and get it installed. I don't mind the mechanical locker but for DD duties I'd rather have a selectable locker.

Good so all went well then

Yep. I could have done it all by myself but the old axle fell off the jack and with my back I wasn't gonna pick it up. But yeah. I swapped the whole axle/brake assembly without disconnecting the ebrake. I still need to weld on some diff armor yet, but it's not a priority. Probably do it when I swap in the ARB.

Damn I didn't think the brake cables had that much slack in them

I dropped the housing onto the floor and slid it forward and to one side.. pulled the side that was under the truck and then slid it to the other side. Plenty of room.
