Hence the reason I unistalled the HID headlights in my 85. I think I have used the 20" light bar on my Tacoma 5 times max.

Case in point. Now that I live in, more or less the city, 20" light bar.... Worthless.

Until that one cute young thing (CYT or CYTwBT) loses her keys and you get to help her find them. :)

Speaking of light bars. I'm pretty sure I'm coming down for a Karbach run and the meet at the Refinery on the 4th. I'll get that 21" from you if you haven't sold it by then.

and that's just blinding fuckers that cut you off in traffic, right? you get your DTRL stuff fixed up?

The parts are in. They want me uninstall my front bumper so they can install my headlights or charge me 300 bucks to do so. WTF. I'm going to try to get the parts and do eet my self.

Just replaced the bearing in the front diff with a sleeve, didn't fix my fucking problem. I'm about ready to sell this fucking thing and get something different. Put it in 4 hi and gave it some gas, make this weird fucking noise which leads me to believe that my front end is just fucked, not shavings in the diff fluid at all though, is it possible the diff has just come loose from the mount? Help please

Look for cracked motor mounts, cracked broken or missing bolts in the front cross member. Failing that try to isolate the problem pull the front drive shaft and or CVs and see if the sound is still there. Could be the joints in the front driveshaft (simple cheap easy), or you could have a dying pinion bearing in the diff (not so simple cheap easy). Need to somewhat isolate the problem before just throwing parts at it

Had the motor mount problem before, fixed it. It has to be in the front diff, if I put it in 4 hi and gun it it makes this awful grinding sound that it doesnt in 2 wheel drive. Good note, ecgs has a 5 year warranty on assembled diffs apparently.

Could still be the u-joints as in 2hi there is no load on them, check them/replace them cheap standard 1310 spicer joints. I find this senario far more likely than a front diff failure. Go through the whole front end again could have cracks in the cross member/frame that have developed since you fixed the motor mounts. Worn out diff mount bushings/trans mount. You still haven't gone through all the simple stuff before pulling the diff to rebuild

Well I just went for a drive on the highway and was watching the tire, it seems to have a little play in it but if I jack it up I can't move it at all. Is it possible that using 4 hi would make a weird noise not in the front diff but at the bearing on the driver side? I'm thinking about going to the dealer tomorrow. I redid my drive shafts not to long ago but I will double check them.

Damnit... installed the new seatbelts in the 81. They went in easy peasy.. but the nice piece that holds the end you clip into is too short. My fault, didn't order it long enough. But the company was super cool. They are like, send em back.. we'll charge $7 a side to make em longer. The guy was just going to send them out but they have to sew in a tag for Big Brother so he has to reuse the tags. But for $7 plus shipping.. not a bad dealio.

www.seatbeltplanet.com I recommend them.

Do your driveshafts have a lot of play in them?
