What have you done to your ride lately?

No idea. None. Maybe it was just a bad one???? Really don't know. Luckily they have a 12 month warranty so that's good. I ordered one anyhow.. Hopefully the guy is cool and he warranties the other one. I'll keep it as a spare. Figure if I have a fully built spare it will never fail.

Guy is really good about communicating as well. I emailed his "contact us" link and within an hour he wrote back. I have to send the bearing back and he will inspect it. Looking for rust. I don't think there should be any, I hasn't been in deep water at all. But we did get a lot of rain back in May. But it was in the garage for 95% of that. It should be covered.

Think my Eccotemp will bring water up a max of 70 degrees as single pass. I bought the 180 degree shut off switch for brewing; I think it stops heating at 120 normally.

Impressive!!!

I get teased by my LC friend, "Why is your Toyota so unreliable." I said my truck is reliable. I can rely upon it failing once a month or so. lol :o

Funny and true. Today was a $500 day. Crown lines $160. Power Stop pads $60. Wheel bearing assembly $280.

www.Bluepitbearings.com OEM quality (well maybe not one of them.. :) ) But its my second one I've bought and I've been very satisfied. Surprised this one failed to be honest. I really thought it was gonna be a brake line that was crapped out.

There's a lot cheaper bearings from a vendor on TW (I know...I know).

He sells a much cheaper version as well. I didn't want a cheap one,

Not sure if the brake line is failing worse or what. Brake pedal is REALLY soft.. need to pump it once or twice to get a nice pedal feel. Now this could be the line is ballooning out (I hung the caliper from a wire when I had it off but the brake line was sorta twisted around) or the fact the pads are worn down (should auto adjust to take out the slack). But my money is on the good ol' wheel bearing taking a shit causing the mushy brake pedal. Its been a year for the driver side one so its due I guess. I need to jack it up and check.

Those damn wheel bearings are half the reason are swapped my truck

Stand back. I've been drinking. I think he said that the wheel bearings are half the reason he swapped the wheel bearings in his truck. I think the other half was aliens. Just saying.

Upon further drinking it may have been wheel bearings that caused him to swap his truck... I'm guessing it's right hand drive at this point. I'll continue to drink and uncover this mystery. Carry on.

Thanks for the translation. Well - getting ready to go pull the supercharger off my 4R, replace the rear bearings, and reinstall said supercharger. Here's hoping it goes smooth enough to be good by Monday morning.

Update:

8:30 started getting the garage ready for this project
9:15 started taking the supercharger off the block
10:30 supercharge is off

Ended up dropping the housing and bearings off at a shop to get them removed/installed. I gave the bearings a decent number of legit attempts and did not get the desired results so I decided to have it done right instead of screwing something up. So tomorrow morning I pick it up and should have the 4R running again by lunch time. Everything is ready to bolt together and on once I get it back.

Going to go ahead and replace all the hard to get to vacuum hoses while I have it off. Figure I might as well while it is easy to do.

My vatozone alternator took a shit on me yesterday. Limped it to my parents shop and pulled it. Went down to the local vatozone and they actually had the replacement on the shelf! That never happens. So I installed the new one and it only puts out 13V at 2100RPM's or 70MPH. FML. so this new one isn't that good either. Ended up ordering a truck tough alternator from poly performance. It's supposed to put out 140A at idle and 240A at 1700RPM. So I'll update y'all when I get it in.

Also, at 172,000 miles my OEM serpentine belt has stretched out too much and I didn't put it back in. A 172,000 miles on one belt. That's pretty amazing. Still looks great too. I'm running my shitty backup for now. I'll go pick up a new OEM one on monday from the stealership. RIP my sweet prince. lol

Rebuild companies suck. I wonder if they have ever heard of a quality program? I had one on the 7 that lasted about a week before it burned up. Had to pay close to $500 for a new one but no regrets.

Speaking of which, that car is worth anywhere from $4k to 9k these days. Amazing to think when 10 years ago it cost about $80k. I still enjoy it as a daily driver and think I can get another 50k to 100k out of it. I know they are notorious for a cooling tube failure in the middle of the engine and that is a ticking time bomb. Its about a 10 hour job with about $2k in parts. I will still do that one but if the tranny goes, I guess I will part out what I can. :) Maybe I could SAS it! lol

When I worked at Oreilly in high school I would always bench test the alternators to prevent selling a shitty one. The odds were not very good for how many we sent back with out even selling them.
