Not an awful idea, but you might loose some bending strength
The idea sounds like it has potential, I say go for it. Hell that might be the next big thing for everyone to try........after youNot to get too geeky, but the strength I'm looking for is shear on that bolt since the bolt would no longer bend from the deflection in the Y axis!
Since it's pretty much a cantilevered beam on the current setup's outer part of the bolt. I wish I had a highs peed camera filming that bolt during some of the times I've been flying through the desert (both literally and figuratively). I am sure you are right about the bending of that bolt. That bolt must bend!
Also, I hear play up there from time-to-time and the gussets should make for a sweet setup. We'll see.
Once those gussets are in, the 'bending' allowed in the stock set will be virtually eliminated. In the setup I'm thinking about, both of the ends of the bolts holding the UCA will be 'pinned' on both ends. The more I think about it, the more I like it.![]()

Yeah, I think having two bolts will basically double your failure points. Not to mention that the bolts to install will be much easier.

Just to clarify, I don't mean to say two ponta of failure, but taking your single point and cutting it in half.
