Sounds good! I have the Cobra 75. I love it! Crystal clear, great reception, weather, and you can unplug it and make it disappear in the glove box.I installed new headlight housings. One of mine was fogging up really badly and I was tired of f*cking with it. So new black ones where installed. Also installed 100 watt PIAA H3 bulbs for the 510's up front.
I also picked up a pile of new crap, mainly for camping and communication.
The CB in the Taco has been acting up lately. I think its a combination of things. The biggest one is a broken Firefly (note to self, back all the way in the garage before pulling out... Firefly does not like to be shaped like an S", the other is the coaxial cable is 3+ years old and its looking like it might be breaking down due to the sun/weather, and finally, the little Midland handheld. Decent unit but the lack of a speaker out (well there is one but its on the handpiece... not handy). SO.. I picked up a whole new CB setup for the Taco and some CB parts for Clyde.
Taco is getting a Cobra 75 WX ST, 4' Firefly, Firestik low profile Fire-Ring coax, heavy duty SS stud, HD Firestik spring and a Cobra noise cancelling speaker.
Clyde is getting the Cobra 29 LTD Army edition and a 4' tuneable Firestik. Didn't order a mount yet. Not sure where I'm going to put it.
Also picked up RAM mounts for my Nuvi 1490 in the Taco and a mount to affix my Magellan Triton 400 (loaded with Nat Geo 1:24000 topo's of Texas) into either the Taco or Clyde. It mounts to the grab handle on either.
For lighting I got some LED bedlights to replace the 100 watt halogen heat-lamps I have back there now. http://www.anzousa.com/pages/products/bedrail.html
Some more LED's, the same ones that Sam has actually, for backup lights or to replace my front halogen rock lights. Depending on how bright they are will determine where they end up.
And finally, a Trasharoo. No more throwing beer cans in the bed while wheeling. LOL
So, over the next few days/week I'll be busy.

Nice man, where'd you get the relay board and switch bay? Gonna need both
Theye are lil on the expensive side so ordering 2 may be a bit much? I can't say enough though on the customer service and quality of of the product.I need one of those relay boards! Maybe even 2
No it didn't lift mine at all. I thought it did but turned out to be the angle the truck was sitting. So does the new design lift the vehicle as much? I don't need any lift.
Bingo! No it looks about the same as mine you just don't have that goofy male/female shackle, meaning I won't have to get custom length XJ shackles for my rear springs I can use plane ol yota what ever length you want shackles.
Not just yet, but they should be ready very soon. I'm not sure what the price is going to be?HELL yeah, is he selling them yet, and if so how much?![]()
cool, thank man.Not just yet, but they should be ready very soon. I'm not sure what the price is going to be?
I guess I feel lucky that most of the guys I wheel with have 2 meters. Many carry a handheld 2 mtr too so usually we have enough if someone joins us that hasn't been bullied () in to stepping up to a 2 meter. Once you go there (digital sqlch, digital encoding (so you don't hear others and they don't hear you), long distance, repeaters, F(flawless) grade diamond grade clarity) it is very tough to go back. So hard that many of us carry a handy as well as a moble so that we can share the love!
