Started to build some mounts for my Rigid Industries Duallies flood lights. Using the aluminum block that Rob machined for me as the backing plate for them.
Welded some guides to prevent the mounts from spinning. They are actually welded from a hole I put in the backside and then covered up with the angle steel. The one on the right is not complete.
Pretty thick.. a little overkill I'd suppose.
I still need to wire them up..
Only one done so far... I'll finish up the other one tomorrow.

I had those metal plugs laying around. My parents came down at Christmas and my dad gave me a big box of scrap steel. He's a farmer and in the off season he works with some buddies and they build all kinds of farm 'goodies' in a shop about 50 yards from my parents house in town. http://www.thespreader.com/ Nothing like the stuff you do Rob, but they have some very large tools. One is a big hydraulic press that was punching out holes from 1/2" plate. The result was the leftover little plugs I used for the guides. They work great and are the perfect size for the rails. The bracket was actually siding in the rail without any bolts while I positioned it. I'm going to have to ask for some more of them next time I go up there.
