Today I was going to rotate my tires. I loostened the front, and moved on to the rear. I broke the socket for my wheels, and cracked my center cap. Luckily I found another socket that would work, on a ratchet. Broke the socket tightening the lug nuts. Found another wrench, and got everything tightened back up.
So I removed all the center caps. Then I scrubbed my uniballs down real well, and re-lubed.


Also cleaned my heavily corroded battery cables with some good ole baking soda. That was causing my KC's not to work. Now they're up and going again.

Got my headunit fixed and installed correctly now. I put in the silver instead of the black metra cover, so now everything matches. I hooked up the bluetooth module so now I can stream calls/txts/music to my headunit. Cleaned up a lot of the wiring and found a good place for the mic. Special thanks to Rich for the idea to shim the headunit to hold it straight. Saved me 200$ bc I didn't have to buy a new dash bezel piece.

Edit: I got the RCA cables hooked up as well. I hooked my N64 up bc that's the only gaming system I have lying around this pic is of me testing it before I put everything back together.

Its extremely difficult to use a plasma cutter with any precision. I actually use it as little as possible. The kerf is huge, like an 1/8", and its difficult to keep a steady hand. I use it for rough cutting only because then I end up having to grind a fair amount to get a clean line.

I didn't say its impossible. I said its difficult. I also admitted some of it is my fault due to a semi unsteady hand. I use a big industrial plasma cutter. It may be designed with quantity in mind more than precision. I don't know. Whatever the case, I have seen very, very few gorgeous lines cut with that machine (by anyone). Not to mentiion all the slag to clean up etc. I only use it for interior cuts. I use the shear and the nibbler as much as possible. Nice clean lines every time.

Did a bunch of work on my truggy and rear brakes on Marios Taco - almost as tired as when I backed in to his wall!!! - I hope it stops!!!

Not really my ride, but my buddy and I worked on my old POS trailer yesterday. Started by putting it on jackstands and getting it level. Ended up cutting all the 3" schedule 40 off the top of it. Also pulled up all the boards and replaced the shitty ones. Then we ground out all the broken/cracked parts and welded it back together. We then bolted the boards to each crossmember of the frame. The steel supply house was closed, but the plan is to put a piece of 2x2x 1/4" angle all the way along each frame rail. Also need to work on the wiring, I'd say the person who wired up did a shitty job, but that would give shit a bad name. I need to pick up some brakes for it as well. As it is I think it will make it to HF on the 15th but I would like to do a little more to be safe.

Well I found a place online to order some electric brakes for the trailer. Since the lug pattern is 4.75x5 it makes those all-in-one kits worthless. But I did find a place in Dallas that sold the drums I need as well as the brake assembly. So hopefully I can get that stuff shipped and installed before the 15th. Also went and got the thing some license plates. So now I can use it legally! (always a bonus). I will take it sometime this week and pickup some steel. Also need to swing by NorthernTool and look over their collection of trailer light kits and maybe a new tongue... mine is beat to shit.

With any luck I'll have this thing all dolled up before the 15th and it won't fall apart on me.

Sounds a lot like my trailer, however it doesn't need trailer brakes big fucking discs on the chevy stop it just fine. Do you know what your axles are rated for? I had to replace mine after the first time I used it because the idiot who built it used 2000lb axles. Buy cheap lights as they are often and easily broken.

X2 to the cheap lights. Also pick up some spares too. They burn out randomly.
Also, cross your chains and make sure the chains are rated for the weight on the trailer. No crappy kiddy swing chains. And make sure you have the right ball for the amount of weight your towing. Those are the words of advice straight out of the owners mouth of a masterhitch store when I was picking up some trailer stuff a few months ago. He had a cop come in and tell him that they were gonna start enforcing that all over the state for the ticket money.

Not 100% sure on the axles, but its hauled off-road rigs for a while. Reason it was broken was because they tried to haul a bobcat. But even if its only 2000 lbs axles I'm not too concerned yet.. my little Yota probably weighs under 3000 or very close. If I start eating bearings or anything like that I might look into replacing axles.. but at that point I'll be looking at replacing trailers. LOL

As for cheap lights, I just spent a whole $27 at Northern on a set.. and I'll be using the old ones as spares. I picked up the set that includes the front cornering lights.. fancy shit I know. LOL

I have to add some chains, I am a FIRM believer in safety. The POS only has one chain now, but I have some new chains for it.. just need to install them this weekend. As for the ball, I'm good for now, I highly doubt the whole setup weighs more than 5000lbs. But I was eyeballing some new tongues tonight at Northern. The one thats on there looks like someone beat the release with a hammer so its a bitch to get on and off sometimes. I wouldn't mind replacing it and when I do I'll put a larger size on it. Not because I plan to tow more, but because the 2 5/16's ball is that much stronger.

Sounds good... and you may be surprised how much yours weighs... My new bundle of joy weighs 3100 and change and it doesn't have a winch, ac, roll cage, etc. I wonder what this thing is going to weigh when I am done with it... well not done since... well, you know!
