I defiantly have slop in the steering wheel.

Well tierods are just one thing that can cause that, could be anything from the steering box itself to the steering joints from the column to the box it's something that needs to get thoroughly looked over cause there are a lot of potential problems.

Nice man good job on the hood!!!

I think the idea is good on the hood, but the execution was poor. I put coat after coat on it & it still doesn't look rigth, I am thinking about hitting it with some 1000 grit to smooth it out.

Todd told me that always happens using flat black paint & I should try re-doing it in satin. I am going to see if I can find some tan pin stripping to seperate the edges & I might re paint the black on the hood.

Yeah with flat you should have sprayed up n down the hood and about 5+ in. Away with a bunch of light overlapping coats

Thanks, I want to put the bikini top back on it, I think it will look cool

The black door handles really complete the look. You gonna paint all of the chrome trim?

Yes, I still have more to do, masking it all off is a pain in the ass. I still need paint the lock & handle on the driver side and get all of the chrome around the windsheild frame & around the triangle vent windows. I got a little pissed at the way the hood was coming out & gave up for the day.

i think all the chrome trim is in the trash haha

Most of it is, but some pieces I cannot eliminate will be painted black.

I needed some 15" wheels to put the new tires I am supposed to pick up this weekend on. Was planning on using the stock steelies untill I ran into a really sweet deal on these. I traded a guy at work even..my steel wheels with fucked up tires for his aluminum wheels with fucked up tires. I am pretty suprised at how nice of shape these are in, they need to be cleaned up a bit, but the clearcoat is still intact & no dings. Pretty good trade IMO.

they are not my first wheel choice, but for basically free, they are nicer than the other option I had. Now I am really wondering if the 33's are going to fit, or rub like a fat chick in corduroy.

Well, a little bit of sad news. I had my alternator repaired a couple months ago but it crapped out again. I took it back into the local alternator shop & this time was told that it was beyond repair. A new denso alt. is going to set me back $300, I don't see that happening. I can get a reman for $125 but have had many bad experinces with "lifetime warranty" alternators & starters from the parts store & really don't see that happening either. I see that Trail Gear & LCE sell the same brackets to mount a GM 1 wire alternator, but I am having trouble finding info on what else I need to do. Seems that most of the alternator swaps are taking place on 3.4 v-6's. Anybody have an guidance on which route I should take?

Local salvage yard and get one out of a wreck/junked 4cyl. Second best option is going to be the GM conversion but the big problem there is you then need a GM alt which may set you back just as much as the yota alt. It's tit for tat, what is crapped on you current alternator that they can't rebuild it?
