I needed some 15" wheels to put the new tires I am supposed to pick up this weekend on. Was planning on using the stock steelies untill I ran into a really sweet deal on these. I traded a guy at work even..my steel wheels with fucked up tires for his aluminum wheels with fucked up tires. I am pretty suprised at how nice of shape these are in, they need to be cleaned up a bit, but the clearcoat is still intact & no dings. Pretty good trade IMO.

Wheels look good man...need a coat of flat black

Well, a little bit of sad news. I had my alternator repaired a couple months ago but it crapped out again. I took it back into the local alternator shop & this time was told that it was beyond repair. A new denso alt. is going to set me back $300, I don't see that happening. I can get a reman for $125 but have had many bad experinces with "lifetime warranty" alternators & starters from the parts store & really don't see that happening either. I see that Trail Gear & LCE sell the same brackets to mount a GM 1 wire alternator, but I am having trouble finding info on what else I need to do. Seems that most of the alternator swaps are taking place on 3.4 v-6's. Anybody have an guidance on which route I should take?
I'm pretty sure that I have a re-built chevy alt at the house that has never been installed..I will have to ask dad what he did with it, his went out and he bought a new one then I had his old one re-built thru work.

Check it out & let me know, I need one ASAP, the tx4x4 club meeting is at BVORR this Sunday & I would like to make it if I can. I would gladly pay him for it. Also since I don't have time to wait on the brakets from Trail Gear I guess I will be making my own. Even though I have the ability to make them, in this case for the price I wish I could just order them.

Your the man Keith! Hey & I'm supposed to remind you about that spring compressor also. But that's not for me so the Alt thing is more important LOL.

Depends if it's a reman or OEM, i'll leave it to rob to push the point and find out.

I just got off the phone with him. The GM alternator that Keith has won't work, it's the wrong style & uses a serpentine style belt. The yota alternator on TTORA is remanufactured but it did not come from the parts store, it has a lifetime warranty thru performance alternator & I bought it for $125. Now if Sam would answer his phone I would have him pick it up for me.

Well hell, why won't it work, just the belt style? It is a single wire

unfortunatlly yes, the pulley are not interchangeable between my bad yota alt & the GM one because of the size & length of the shaft. I sure was hoping that it would, thanks for trying man.

Hey, didn't Todd have an alternator on that 3.4L he bought?

Yes it has an alternator but it won't work, we already tried it. I already bought the one from the guy on TTORA in Katy, sent him the $$ thru pay-pal earlier today, I just need to find a way to get it from him. I am hoping to meet up with Boomtacoma this weekend anyways. What are you & the family doing this weekend? Camping or staying home? Looks like I am going to be headed your way.

Maybe see if boom will pick it up? I think he lives in that area.

Just talked to Boom, looks like it will be another week on the tires. He has been busy & hasn't had the chance to have them dismounted. No big deal too me, it will be worth the wait. I have plenty of other shit to work on anyways. I am still going to Katy tomorrow to pick up that alternator.
