Thanks Chris, your rig is looking great BTW. You still plan on taking it to Jambo?
I found my original center console in a box of parts that came with the truck and was happy to find that the power window switch was still in it. Also had a window lock button? My front windows are manual so it must be for the rear. Bad news is that the wiring that the switches plug into is nowhere to be found. There was no tailgate on the truck when I got it so there is no telling. I have the new tailgate's wiring plugged in to the body harness, but the body wiring has a couple of quick splices and one wire that is broken but I cannot find the other end. I'm sure this is going to be fun to figure out. I really want to get that window working, I'm considering re-wiring the whole thing with the factory switch, and bypass all of the safety crap with the tail gate.
Thanks Sam, I like that YT link. If I can find the original wiring tucked up somewhere then I will try to repair it, but if not then I will have no choice but to wire it from scratch. If you come to Bryan this weekend to hit BVORR then I you should stop by and help me out.....if I don't get it by then anyways.
Really? I know there should be at least one according to the wiring diagram on 4crawlers page, though I would think there would be 2. I honestly haven't gotten far enough into this to know for myself.
Here is the diagram.

Maybe it's the gears that stop it at the bottom, and the limit switch at the top.But why is there only one? Seems to me that there should be one to stop the window from going to far up and one to stop the window from going too far down? I am already confused as to how to wire into it.
Most of those things have a Hall effects switch inside the motor..
Could you tell by looking at the wiring diagram? Mind giving it a look over for me? I don't see it.
Reading my new 4WD Toyota Owner, they have a whole write up on installing a Grant steering wheel in a 4runner like yours...![]()
