When I say emissions stuff I mean you could get away with no cats on a visual inspection. And I think the classic car coverage is really only usefull to people who have full coverage and their vehicle is insured at a fixed value of replacement.

According to the rule book anything 84 and newer is NOT required to have a cat. Even though I passed inspection I am going to weld the cat for next time since I have it. Maybe it will help to quiet the thing down some.

That is what I was thiinking, I'm fine with accepting that as the answer as long as it is not going to be a recurring thing. I do have one brake line on the drivers side front that is kinked pretty bad so I ordered $5 a replacement.

LMAO. I don't think that is the kind of 18 year old that he was talking about. He was thinking about these stupid aggie chicks this town is polluted with.

Yup but after looking at that link from Sean, I'm good with either

Alright now my brake problem is back. Happened again on my way to work this morning, I can feel the resistance and the brake pedal gets hard as a rock. As soon as I pulled in I jumped on the forklift and picked up the front of the truck, BOTH front wheels where locked up? Went back 30 minutes later and they where both free so the pressure is building up and then bleeding off. I have a hard time believing that BOTH of my calipers are sticking. I bought kits and rebuilt them myself a few months ago. I guess it gives me a good excuse to buy some larger V6 calipers but I don't want to throw over $100 at it and then end up having to replace the master cylinder. I got the MC used so maybe that is the problem, anybody have any advise or in-site before I start throwing money at it?

Again, I don't think the calipers are the problem. I already bought and installed a new MC but my dad has my brake bleeder and I don't have a helper to bleed them the old fashion way t the moment.

I think I have the brake locking up issue resolved, I drove it around for about 20 minutes and it did not give me any problems. Not sure what did it since I changed several things at once. The new master cylinder is installed. It was suggested to me that I check the clerance between the MC and the booster push rod but it was in spec. However I did adjust the pedal from in the cab of the truck quite a bit, it very possibly could have been not allowing the pedal to release pressure from the booster, causing residual pressure to build up. While I was at the parts store getting the core back on my MC I asked about new brake soft lines and they had them in stock for $12 each so I went ahead and bought / replaced those aswell. Mine looked pretty rough and they where cheap enough. I have one new caliper hard line on order to replace the one that is a little kinked, should have ordered both & still might order the other today.

I don't think it is related but might be worth mentioning that I did find another issue while swapping out the brake lines. One of my hubs is not unlocking properly so that axle was spinning the whole time. I popped the cover off and unlocked it manually, looks like I need a new hub.

Here are the new parts I installed.

Just got an email that my Body lift and motor mount spacers from 4crawler have shipped. I'm hoping that my Bud Built order will ship this week and I can get on with the drive train lift. Who wants to lend a hand with this project?

I may be able to help Rob. It will all depend on when its going down. I have family coming into town in a week or so.

Gravity Bleed!

Works better than anything else

You can't gravity bleed a master cylinder. You have to fully cycle the pushrod to get the air to cycle through it.

I bench bleed the master cylinder, then opened up the brake lines at the calipers but never got a drop out of either. Had my wife help me pump them and it worked out fine.

You probably don't need a whole new hub, just need to open it up and maybe replace some internals.

You know where I can get any parts? I was thinking about trying to find a used set on YT, but if I could just order the one piece I know I need then that would be cool.

Your MC didn't bubble like crazy when you bled it?
