Update on the 4Runner brakes. I've got about 650 miles on them now and they are worth every penny. Stopping is a lot better and feels a lot firmer so far.
is your abs active or have you done away with it?

You might want to hook it up before you tow that trailer a 1000 miles.Same one I have. I mounted the fan but never hooked it up.
Oh yeah, you said that above. Its Monday, I'm not reading very well today.
No idea. Haven't been in an "oh shit! I need to stop" situation yet. I have a Sport so I have that ABS pump thing that came with them.is your abs active or have you done away with it?
She's used to it by nowIt was a 105° on the way home. I put the windows down and turned the heater on which cooled it off quite a bit. Wife was a trooper and didn't complain at all.

True! Poor girl...She's used to it by now![]()

Might be your calipers. The 4 piston design they use is terrible...Same here with the sport. Just wondering if the brakes will have any impact. Before I blew my engine my brakes were in need of help. ABS was overactive in summer Philly pothole driving and driving in snow/ice you were lucky to make it anywhere alive. Bled all the old fluid out and put new in, but brakes were still fubar. Thinking master cylinder or silly ABS pump.
I was hoping to find some more remote first come first serve sites. Not sure if they even have any though.Yeah I would wait until it's cooler before going. Also, if it's close to a holiday, you'll have to book your spot well in advance (which I'm sure you already know).
Nope they don't. The far back point is the furthest away from everyone.I was hoping to find some more remote first come first serve sites. Not sure if they even have any though.
Nope. Planning on doing those when I swap out leaf springs.Did you ever look at your rear wheel cylinders?
Nope. Didn't even know about them until I had my new regular Dakar leaf packs already. I'm going to stick with the tried and true regular Dakar packs for now. They have performed in every aspect and situation I've asked of them. So I'm not looking to try something else when I already know how good these work. Are you doing those new HD Dakars? You need to do it quick and report back because I want to do them as well.. just don't know how much lift they are going to provide. I'm pretty level now.
Yeah but it's nice that they are thicker than OEMThose clips on the crown brake lines are kinda of a pita, gonna knock out the other 3 lines tonight
I found some dispersed camping areas along certain forest service roads on the MVUM. First come camping. I may check some out this fall.Yeah I would wait until it's cooler before going.
