Update on the 4Runner brakes. I've got about 650 miles on them now and they are worth every penny. Stopping is a lot better and feels a lot firmer so far.

is your abs active or have you done away with it?

Same one I have. I mounted the fan but never hooked it up. :)

Oh yeah, you said that above. Its Monday, I'm not reading very well today.
You might want to hook it up before you tow that trailer a 1000 miles.

No idea. Haven't been in an "oh shit! I need to stop" situation yet. I have a Sport so I have that ABS pump thing that came with them.

Same here with the sport. Just wondering if the brakes will have any impact. Before I blew my engine my brakes were in need of help. ABS was overactive in summer Philly pothole driving and driving in snow/ice you were lucky to make it anywhere alive. Bled all the old fluid out and put new in, but brakes were still fubar. Thinking master cylinder or silly ABS pump.

Might be your calipers. The 4 piston design they use is terrible...

Yeah I would wait until it's cooler before going. Also, if it's close to a holiday, you'll have to book your spot well in advance (which I'm sure you already know).
I was hoping to find some more remote first come first serve sites. Not sure if they even have any though.

Nope they don't. The far back point is the furthest away from everyone.

URD MAF calibrator on order. Hoping to get a little bit smoother performance out of this. Eventually down the road I'll be getting the URD Spec exhaust system as well.

Did you ever look at your rear wheel cylinders?

Are you doing those new HD Dakars? You need to do it quick and report back because I want to do them as well.. just don't know how much lift they are going to provide. I'm pretty level now.

Nope. Didn't even know about them until I had my new regular Dakar leaf packs already. I'm going to stick with the tried and true regular Dakar packs for now. They have performed in every aspect and situation I've asked of them. So I'm not looking to try something else when I already know how good these work.

Ordered another set of Dakar leaf bushings to replace the OEM set on the shackles.

Ordered a set of Baja Design Squadron-R Sport Driving/Combo fog lights. One of my ACRO fog lights burned out after a year. I'm so tired of those POS ACRO lights. The housings corrode like crazy and they are HUGE for the small amount of light they put out.

I'm hoping these new lights won't be so bright that you can't use them for driving on road.

Yeah but it's nice that they are thicker than OEM

I found some dispersed camping areas along certain forest service roads on the MVUM. First come camping. I may check some out this fall.

MVUM?

I found secluded areas around Angelina NF to camp but they were mosquito infested and random people kept driving by. My wife wasn't comfortable with it so we ended up staying at the main campground.
