Time for a new Tom Wood driveshaft.

Aside from the driveshaft thing... The new tires performed better than I hoped. I was quite pleased. I also got to test out my awning windbreak. I've had it for a couple years and never had the opportunity to really use it. The wind and the trailer position aligned and the windbreak did as advertised, it broke wind. I was quite pleased with it. My propane mount and setup also worked well.View attachment 40977

I have three of them. 2 are spares. Over the years I have bent them or just wanted a spare. One is better than the other, Jason used it for a bit even. But one needs a new CV put in it. Just haven't put any effort into getting it fixed. One that is in there has been in there for 6 years or so.

I twisted one up and I could get a new one delivered next day vs. a week locally. I ended up getting it repaired later. Don't recall when I got the other one.

Got my Tom Woods DS to install tomorrow and to diagnose a P0174 code.

Don't forget the fuel filter if it has not been changed in 100k.

I cleaned the MAF and reset the fault. Will see what happens. Between the drive shaft bolts not moving and my headache I didn't make progress on the DS.

Didn't think the fuel filters get replaced routinely.

When I was driving a lot of miles yearly I would replace mine every 50k miles; but now I stick to 100k miles. The difference being I get fuel from a much smaller source of gas stations now than before. But yes, fuel filters should be replaced as a dirty filter can starve the injectors.

Yes. Toyota strongly advises against replacing the fuel filter in the 2nd gen Tacoma unless it is absolutely necessary. At least I've read that a few places when I considered it. I decided to take their recommendation and not drop my fuel tank.
