You might want to add some steel to the upper portion and then add some top mounting bolts. Thats a lot of weight to be hanging on by only two bolts, not to mention the surface area they attach to has been diminished. I'd just hate to see that tire break free and go bouncing down the road.

Having no money, I've been doing everything I can that requires none.

I started dissembling the stock hitch for use as part of the rear bumper I'm going to build. Apparently the inside of the square tubing got a little rusty.

Got the parts I need anyway, and they're in pretty good shape. Just a little surface rust.

I'm going to try to cut out the receiver itself, but it might not be worth the effort.

You could just flip it over like I did, you'll have to make some new brackets since you cut yours. When I flipped mine it put the reciever just under the bed and bar flush with the frame rails. Don't worry about the rust thats either 3/16 or 1/4 steel and that rust is no where near compromising to it's strength.

No way it would work. Flipping it would put it in the middle of my tailgate, lol

So where does the frame sit in relation to the bottom line of your tailgate? This is what mine looked like and I simply fliped it over and bolted it back into the same location.

Mine looks nothing like that. The bottom of the frame is up higher than the bottom of the tailgate, so the hitch is dropped down about 12" from there.

So I thought about it and decided that my passengers won't be needing a foot heater very ofter and decided to pull it out so I can have more room in my center console. The fan will just come right out, but the damn thing is plumbed pretty impressively so I'll have some lines to plug if I want all of it out of there.

Here's what it looks like underneath

Looks like it might be leaking or something

I don't know jack about HVAC. Anyone know what's in the lines? Coolant? Motor Oil?
