Speaking of ranges - I need to get out. Never really had any local friends who shoot, but I can hear the trap range from my house. It's less than a mile away. You guys talking about it just reminded me to look it up. Probably total crap compared to your guys ranges, but I think I might join. Pine Valley Gun Club

That is actually a pretty nice facility to shoot trap at. The problem with ranges around here is that more than half the people here just go out in the country to a friend's property to shoot. While I fully support that right it is difficult for ranges to get enough business to really set up a nice facility. I will admit I like shooting rifle/pistol in a small group or alone which is hard to do at a public range.

Once you shoot on private property, every gun range instantly sucks.

Never thought about it that way. Luckily in my state that's not a problem. Typically the ranges have full customer bases but people who build houses around them (cheap land) complain and get them shut down.

I gave up looking for ranges and being a member to one a long time ago, but it's time to hone long lost skillz. Heck I bought a 10-22 two years ago along with gear for a full build and never took any of it it out of the box/bag. If I had land or local friends with land that would of never happened.

Very true. Same could be said of states. Once you shoot in a state that respects the 2nd amendment (PA) you never want to go back to one that doesn't (NJ). lol

Have a build sheet on that hole punch?

That is one thing I have never understood. I was surprised when my local county .gov refused to pass new laws that would prevent a gun range from opening up near a subdivision. They cited issues with the laws conflicting with State Law and not wanting to target individual businesses through government interference. I was amazed.

I used to have a Police Range that was open to the public 5 days out of the week. They closed it due to lead contamination. Really? :rolling eyes:

Not uncommon if the lead is migrating off range into water sources especially if near drinking wells

I've been looking at these recently. Not really sure why. I already have a 6.8 that I'm too cheap to buy a scope for. But some part of me wants a 6.5 as well.
Well if you're too cheap to buy a scope for your 6.8 then don't get a 6.5 creedmoor. The round is worthless without a great scope on it (if you shoot long range).
