I like what you've done with the bungies. You took what I did with the brake calipers a step further with the CVs
It's the only thing I had around. I looked at the pics and it's funny that they are color coded from side to side. I swear my OCD had nothing to do with that....just so happens that's the way they came out of my bed storage bin.
You could try waterproof bearing grease. I have been using it on my leaf springs and it has held up pretty well.
Ill take a look at that. If all else fails it will be Mobil-1.
Well ran into an issue today with the LCA BJ's and it's 100% my fault. Ive had them for months and never took the time to make sure a "rented" BJ press will work and it came back to bite me in the ass.
This BJ press from Autozone won't work so then I went to Pep boys and guess what?.....same dam kit as AZ. Then I took a cruise over to a friends house and he had the same exact kit just different brand. So that was strike three. From a quick search on the web + all the fun I had today it seems like the kit I rented is "the" typical universal kit.
The problem is that the universal kit only has 3 different sized adapters.
The smallest won't work for anything.
The medium is the perfect size for pressing them back in. Just so happens to be the same OD as the BJ (2-1/2").
The large is to wide to seat against the LCA properly and comes in at 2-3/4" ID - 3" OD. It hits the back of the LCA at the bend and is impossible to seat centered.
For it to work properly you need a adapter that's 2-9/16" ID - 2-5/8" ID.
Harbor Freight has a 2-5/8" ID - 2-7/8" OD that might work

I will keep searching for now and make a move tomorrow. Chad was also talking about a Jaw type puller that I need to take a look for.
If anyone has some suggestions tonight I'm ready for them otherwise Ill be heading to Harbor Freight in the am to see if their stuff works. Worst case Ill be hitting up Fazios steel shop for some tube and make my own adapter.
