I keep lube in the truck specifically for the high lift. Also a rebuild kit should I shear a shear pin. Up here with them outside the truck you need to spray it down to get everything unrustwelded. Little spray then slide it up and down and pins start working again. The neoprene boots are worthless in our region and just trap more dust and moisture in the jack exactly where you don't want it. Pretty sure they are only good if your going mudding and don't want to get 3" of crap on it or you live in a desert. Tried it for a few years and far better off without it. Must say the handle flinging up when letting a load down is by far the most dangerous aspect of using one besides dropping the truck on someone with one. Seen a couple close calls with handles flying up at warp speed aimed at peoples heads.
oh and x1,000,000,000,000 on the Bill B videos. Pretty sure I'd be dead now if it weren't for his training videos and insight from people more knowledgeable than myself.
and if you do a have a 48" jack all you need to do to get a 60" is buy a replacement bar. Much cheaper to do this than buy a whole new jack. New bar slips right in with little knowledge needed. At first I thought 48" was more than enough until I was by myself stuck digging my truck out because my jack was 10" too short
