except they made one mistake and told the truth about open offices and why they want them.... so you snitch on your coworkers and are always under stress to perform due to the fishbowl scenario they put them in.
“The open-plan office has always been in some ways in the interest of the company rather than the worker because it socializes productivity,” said Melissa Gregg, chief technologist for user experience at Intel, where she researches how technology affects workers’ lives. “It forces workers to watch each other’s work, and it creates very few spaces of privacy for individual workers.”
Thank goodness most of my clients don't fall for that crap. If our small shop that's running 5-7 million through the doors per year can afford to put everyone in their own offices it just proves the big companies care less about you when they go open office cause they can easily afford it.
BTW - my career is heavily invested in separate offices so I'm 120% biased towards them
