6 of the 7.2 surround sound speakers I had were attached to the old house and were left with house as part of the sale, these will be temp or perm until I decide how to set up this house, 100% tile throughout the new house so the sounds travel quite a bit.

Just ordered hardwood for the entire house... anyplace that doesn't have tile is getting wood... except the media room which is getting some nice carpet. The wood is multiple widths, 3", 5" and 7". Can't wait to get it installed.

I need to do that in my rear room. What's the average $ per sq/ft?

Carpet was $5 a sq ft installed (its pretty nice and I also ordered a really good pad for it) and the wood is about $8 a sq ft installed. But that price includes labor and all the materials to include glue, shoe molding and little things like undercutting the fireplace so the wood is seamless. I'm not having transition pieces between the tile and wood either, they will lay it all at the same level. The same company did a friend of mines place, they did his study and his dining room. Turned out great. But I think for the price its not bad. The wood has a 50 year warranty and it has 8 coats of Valspar over it. Should be pretty durable.

The trick was finding a flooring store in the shittiest building. Serious, this place looks like an old warehouse built in the 40's. But their selection was fantastic and they do great work.

I've done hardwood installation.. I'm not doing it again. That's someone elses work... I just pick it out and write the check.

And with my current situation, I look at other's homes and say, "That's nice. If I change from the burlap and press-board, I may do something similar."
