Finally got to go deer hunting this past weekend. The hunting lodge was all inclusive and had buck & doe tags from Texas Parks & Wildlife that needed to be filled. I shot a doe and a spike. Those East Texas deers are small. All the guys except one got multiple deer on this trip.

It was cold! The weather got down to 12° in the blind! My little heater and hand warmers didn't make a difference at all.

We started hunting Wed, had to leave Friday afternoon because there was no way to keep my boys warm, with wind chill below freezing for almost 2 days, kids winter clothes absolutely suck.

The weather is f'd up, and plants and animals all confused, I saw a 6' whip snake cross the road yesterday, putting out fertilizer today and noticed Bluebonnet plants are already spouting all over.

Here is how sometimes we skin deer, ring the head, cut the front legs at least, take small rock size of golf ball wrapped in skin, tie off and go.

Getting the feeders setup and tested to make sure everything works. My dad's closing on his land Friday and the feeders are going up Saturday morning.
