I pulled my car hauler home this afternoon.. backed it into the garage and welded my inner fenders back in place. Also cut off the chains up front (too short) and installed a coiled up section of cable with hooks on it. Wrapped the 7 pin cable in some split loom.. started to paint the metal areas satin black but ran out. Time to go get more. One thing though, I need to get it on jack stands and check out the brakes.. coming home I didn't notice them like I normally do when its empty. (crank up the brake controller and listen for the trailer brakes to lock up on pavement lets me know they are working!)

maybe to 20 or so.. but hell I wasn't aired down that much myself.. he's on beadlocks and I've wheeled with him before when he was aired down lower. Maybe a little better results.. but like I said.. I was disappointed in the performance and so was he. Just comparing KM2s to LTBs on the same day on same trails.. similar rigs. Muddier terrain I'd feel better with LTB's but it might not really be the case with reality.

Yeah. And that's a consideration. I don't do any bogging. The little mud I do get into is just on wet parts of mixed trails. And larger lugs like the LTBs are going to have more trouble on flat rock that the tire can't wrap and envelop. KM2s have been sufficient for most stuff so far, I'm not sure I need a tire as aggressive as the LTB for what I intend to do with the truck.

I'm still thinking about it. Thanks for the input.

I don't know Larry.. his LTB's absolutely sucked ass. Probably terrain dependent though. Out here they blew on the loose rock and hard rock.. hell on the slippy mud (clay based) I thought they would work great but he slid all over. There was one trail we all hit.. I drove right up it without any issues.. it took him 10 minutes.. they just spun! Drew, Jason and Randy where there. FWIW.. he swapped out to Creepy Crawlers.

What pressure was he running? From my vantage point it looks like he was more concerned about gas mileage than traction! lol

For the only truck that I currently allow me to think that I own, I like the KM2s for many reason including if I am in Montana somewhere and blow out 2 of them, I can still get one without having an odd one out. I am very happy with their performance with the exception of 'that one sidewall!' lol

Around 20 IIRC.. like I mentioned.. he's been aired down lower and had better results. But for the apples to apples (granny smith to gala's.. as I was aired down as well) I think in this case the KM2's did better. No idea why, could be the rig.. first gen vs. 2nd gen... or the stars alignment. Granted he did take bigger some risks that weekend... but in the end IMO I think the KM2's did great. I should let Randy, Jason and Drew chime in.

Are you looking for trail only or DD/trail tires?

Truck gets driven to the trails, but I have a Corolla DD. I'm willing to entertain all suggestions. The KM2s are very streetable for an MT, which is nice.

I torched a sidewall on one of mine as well, but other than that no problems. Dennis cut open a Mickey Thompson MTZ in the same park. I really have no personal reason to believe KM2s are any more problematic than other mainstream brand MTs. There were rumblings when they first launched that a few batches with bad rubber were in the first run and prone to fail. That seems believable, as talk of sidewall problems has greatly decreased.

There is a lot to like about KM2s IMO. Depends on what the driver is looking for (as always, right?)

I've cut one sidewall on my KM2's as well.. dicking around on a pile of debris.. (<-- dumbass) But aside from that; knock on wood; no issues.

I was in RAZOR sharp fucking rocks...you could literally peel apples on this stuff. I don't think anything this side of Maxxis or Interco would've held up any better.

Also note his hot pink draglink and tie rod... courtesy of Krawltex.. lol I thought that was pretty funny. BTW, I love his rig.. he wheels the PISS out of that thing. If you saw some pics when he first bought it and now.. its like Larry's rig.. you KNOW it gets used and abused!! :)

I'm running Super Swamper TSLs on my 4Runner and will run them as long as I can. They are barely ok on the street; but they are awesome on the trails. As long as I can get a lug to catch on something/anything I can get up or over. They are tough as hell and wear pretty well too.

Tommy want wingy..
The only thing about interco tires is that they have really stiff sidewalls. You have to air down to single digits before the sidewalls start to bulge. Hopefully i can try a little lower pressure with the new steelies.

I've been told that these TSLs do not work great until you drop them into the single digits. My SX's blow at street psi offroad and looks like he was in the same boat. Drop them to 8 psi and you can't get any better.
