Nothing wrong at all. Just not for 2 weeks. The fumunda would be strong after 14 days

New diff seal is in place. Was no less a bitch getting the LCA to the spindle. Not sure WTF is the issue. Stock LCA's lined up easy peazy. But damn these make me want to throw things at it. Found some gunk in the bolt threads and cleaned it out with a small file. Then it went together. Not sure where it came from but damn. I'm ready for a shower and then bed! Fingers crossed it doesn't leak tomorrow when I test drive it. It was raining cats and dogs when I finished up so a test drive wasn't ideal.

True. 3 or 4 days without a shower is one thing but 14 is another.

14 days is a show of true love. :). Baby you smell like a locker room. Oh wait, so do I.

x2 for a tankless system. I have thought about what it would take to bring my Ecotemp tankless water heater on an expo trip with me.

I don't know the delta T (how many degrees it will increase in temperature from one pass) available from that unit but I figure I will have to run it through at least once when taking water from a mountain stream. :)

Is there something wrong with wet wipes, baby powder and a quick spray of deodorant?

lol - I love to really feel clean - not just hide it. :) Speaking of showers, did Sean and I ever apologize for telling you that the water would heat up in the Big Bend? If not and I can make the Moab deal, I will warm up some baby wipes for you. ;) That was a fun trip. :)

Sean, it took me a couple of times to learn how to do it quickly but I have also chased the threads on the spindle, then lift the spindle so that you can maneuver it a bit better. You and I seem to suffer from many similar diseases! lol

I know my Ecotemp will bring 50 degree water up to 100 at a decent flow rate. Not a strong shower flow; but enough to rinse off with. I agree that a second pass would allow you to get a good temp and good pressure.

While swapping out that axle seal I noticed my brake pads are about shot. Also noticed my Goodridge SS brake line is not looking so good. Had one fail on me before. So I just ordered new pads and a complete set of Crown Performance brake lines.

My 4Runner is getting a new battery today - not a swanky nice one. The cheapest one before payday battery. FML

Do you use an external pump?

Frack me..
Those are nice. IIRC Sam has/had one. I have a Zodi that the wife bought me several years ago. Never used it. :( well other than to make sure it works but it did. I like that one better because you can control the temp. The Zodi just runs water through a coil in the propane fired heat box and makes it hot. So you get what you get.

I have had two of the EccoTemps.. one melted down, so they replaced it for free... second version has been problem free. It's also sitting in my shed not being used if anyone is interested in a cheap one.. I used mine with my first popup that didn't have a water heater. Worked great for shower, never had an issue with flow of hot water? it was much hotter than I needed really... Couple of D cells batteries and a water spigot was all I needed.

for roughing it with an RTT.. the little Zodi setup would probably work better or this one.. http://www.amazon.com/ZODI-Outback-Gear-Extreme-Shower/dp/B000RYWQP6

The issue of hot water is I think about the fall trips that I have done in the Sierras - that water is friggin cold!!!

Sad fact: I have one of the extreme deals too. Just never used it. I guess I should!!! The shower nozzle broke and I need to replace it. I always thought the thing looked like an accident waiting to happen.

Yes; but I have a couple stainless steel pumps i use for brewing beer. At almost $140 each I am certain a cheaper option for this is out there for camping.

I do really like the Eccotemp system though.

Cool. Just wondering. I have one from a Camper World or some-some.

Haven't tried it in Freezing conditions.. 30 something might be about as cold as I have used it in. Didn't think about that.

Think my Eccotemp will bring water up a max of 70 degrees as single pass. I bought the 180 degree shut off switch for brewing; I think it stops heating at 120 normally.

So you use it for brewing?

Yeah; have a filter the water goes through then through the tankless to bring the water up to mash temps

Not sure if the brake line is failing worse or what. Brake pedal is REALLY soft.. need to pump it once or twice to get a nice pedal feel. Now this could be the line is ballooning out (I hung the caliper from a wire when I had it off but the brake line was sorta twisted around) or the fact the pads are worn down (should auto adjust to take out the slack). But my money is on the good ol' wheel bearing taking a shit causing the mushy brake pedal. Its been a year for the driver side one so its due I guess. I need to jack it up and check.

Its a wheel bearing.. the one I just installed back in April. Awesome.
