What have you done to your ride lately?

pull the plugs, set it at TDC and check the timing/actual piston location.

Alright, pulled all the plugs for the compression test. All of them looked like they have been firing correctly, except for #4. Turned the engine over and ridiculous amounts of fuel started spraying out of #4. I think a bad injector is the culprit; stuck open

Yeah, doesn't even compare to the amount of time required to fix a timing chain. I called my dad's friend's mechanic shop and he said it would take 17hr if it was the chain

17hrs for a timing chain? Is that book time or actual time, you can totally rebuild a small block in 17hrs

Boy no shit! My mother-in-laws Honda Pilot just threw a timing chain. 200k miles on it! It's a loaded out model that she daily drives 100+ miles a day. Anyhow dealer quoted her 4500 to fix it. My buddy is doing it, bought a used motor (90k miles) for $800 and he's swapping em out. Downside is that the motor comes out the bottom... And it's AWD. So anyhow, she's be in for about $1500 when it's all done, including a new timing chain and a motor with half as many miles. But they said it was a 20 hour job!

I dunno, i never work on it more than 2-3 hrs at a time on it, and those are very lazy beer filled hours.

I see you work on your rig in a very similar fashion to how I work on mine.

Changed ot the front aux lights. I wasn't happy with the output of the other ones I had there previously. 6 3watt leds per bar. I really like how they turned out.

Nice man! Which ones are those? I was looking at some with similar specs for my trail rig.

Funny.. those are the same ones I was looking at. I was wanting to put 4 of them on the trail rig.. 2 front and 2 rear, not so much rock lights but more of trail lights.

They are pretty bright. Ill take a shot tonight with my garage lights off. I plan to use them for trail lighting as well. I want to get 2 more maybe one of the 21in hawk ones

So, thinking 34in tires...gonna wear these 33s out first, but the way I beat up tires that won't be much longer...

Two primary candidates:

BF Goodrich KM2
285/75/17
33.9in actual height
11.3in section width on 8" wheel
62lbs per tire

Interco Super Swamper LTB
34x10.50x17
33.8in actual height
10.3in section width on 8in tire
58lbs per tire

I am torn...I like that the Interco's have more aggressive tread, are slightly narrower (easier to clearance), slightly lighter (easier on the drivetrain) with no loss of clearance. They also cost less. On the other hand, they'll probably be loud as shit, not like wet road as much, and won't get as long a treadlife as the BFGs. They will also be HELLA pizza cutter at 34in tall but only a little over 10in wide.

Thoughts? Anyone got experience with the LTBs? I'm running KM2s now...I know plenty about them from experience.
